1. What is Bell Hosted Microsoft® Exchange?
Hosted Microsoft Exchange provides users with a fully functional communication
and collaboration service that is completely provided and managed by Bell. It
includes enhanced email, personal and group scheduling, personal and global address
books, journal, public folder storage and sharing and task management. This service
also offers increased security with virus scanning protection of inbound and outbound
email, attachments and files.
Bell Hosted Microsoft Exchange provides 2 classes of service:
Outlook Web Access:
Users are able to access their account from any device with Internet and browser capabilities. This is ideal for users requiring remote
access to their e-mail accounts. This class also provides 20 MB of mailbox storage per user and 50 MB of public folder storage per company.
Secure socket layer (SSL) with 128-bit encryption also provides a secure connection to and from the user and the server. If you are a
subscriber of Outlook® Web Access, you can access your Outlook® Full Client account from any device that has access to the
Internet and browser capabilities giving you easy remote access.
Outlook Full Client
The Outlook Full Client class of service provides users with the convenience and features of Outlook Web Access with the added
benefit of allowing users access to their Bell Hosted Microsoft Exchange accounts using Outlook Software on their desktop.
his class of service will provide access to 30 MB of mailbox storage per user and 50 MB of Public Folder storage per company.
In addition to all the Outlook Web Access features, you also get:
Enhanced email options for sending, receiving, viewing, spell check, archiving and message searches in addition to the email features included
in Outlook Web Access.
Increased mobility functions including PDA synchronization and access from any device allows users to access their
Enhanced security of all data and emails from the user’s desktop to the exchange servers using MS Security and Accelerator, anti-virus software,
and SSL for web-based access.
2. How is Bell Hosted Microsoft Exchange different from other email applications?
Bell Hosted Microsoft Exchange differs from competing products in that it offers
many collaborative features that other email applications do not. For instance,
the service includes email, calendar, group scheduling, global and personal contacts,
journal capabilities, public folder storage and sharing and task management. Here
are some examples of the collaborative features provided within the service:
You can view the free and busy times of multiple Hosted Microsoft Exchange users
so that you can easily schedule the best meeting time for all attendees. You can
view the schedules of all of the necessary people and meeting rooms, send invitations
and automatically update your calendar.
3. What is the web-based Delegated IT Administrator tool?
The web-based Delegated IT Administrator tool, gives Delegated IT Administrators
complete control over provisioning all Bell Hosted Microsoft Exchange accounts.
This tool allows the Delegated IT Administrator to add additional email users,
order additional mailbox and public folder storage, reset passwords, manage user
profiles and your business’s global contact list.
